Tomislav Osmanli
Tomislav Osmanli is a Macedonian writer, playwright, and essayist, and the author of around 30 books of prose, poetry, plays, and screenplays. He authored the first books on film (Film and the Political, 1981) and comics (Comics, a Record with a Human Face, 1987, 2002, 2022).
His work includes 5 novels, 8 prose collections, and the poem Blaze's Vigils (2021), marking Blaze Koneski's centenary. A Lamp for Hanukkah (2008) won the Prose Masters Award, while The Twenty-First was named Novel of the Year (2010) and a Balkanika nominee. Osmanli also won top poetry prizes in Italy: First Prize at Ante Popovski/Angelo La Vecchia (2018) and the Grand-prix at Amilcare Solferini (2025). His works are published and performed abroad, translated into over 12 languages.
He is a member of the Macedonian Writers' Association and the Macedonian PEN Centre.
