Niccolò Ammaniti (born 1966) is an Italian writer. He studied biology. He is the author of several novels and short story collections. He is the winner of the highest literary awards in Italy - "Viareggio" and "Strega". Many of his books have been filmed by directors such as Gabriele Salvatores and Bernardo Bertolucci. In 2014, Amaniti tried himself as a film director.
