Anna
Translation: Kalina Janeva

Anna, her brother and other children wander around Sicily, eating sweets and canned food, struggling to survive. Food and water become luxuries. Fires are raging across the country. Dystopia. Four years ago, a dangerous virus from Brussels infected the entire planet and killed the entire adult population! Only children remained.

Organized like hordes of children, the lost and abandoned small inhabitants seem to be starting civilization from scratch.

Going through a series of adventures and dangers, discovering love and friendship, Anna grows and matures. Before their mother dies, she warns them that, when they reach a certain maturity, the virus will kill them too. But he also tells them that someone, somewhere, will have a cure!

In this extraordinary dystopian novel, Amaniti delivers a sharp critique of the corporate globalism that rules the world and reminds humanity that it will soon disappear if left to it and not resisted.
