The publishing house Antolog from Skopje announces:
35 TRANSLATIONS IN COMPETITION FOR THE "DRAGI" AWARD 2025 ЗА НАГРАДАТА „ДРАГИ“ 2025
The organizational committee of the “Dragi” awardhas the honor to announce that by the final deadline for the nominations (July 1st 2025), 35 prose, fiction pieces translated in Macedonian have been nominated and delivered, in physical, but also in digital form. Competing for the award are 33 translators. The nominated books are published by 18 different publishing houses or individuals, and there are translations from 17 different languages. The books come from 35 international authors that have written novels, short stories essays, diaries etc..

The three-member jury committee for awarding the prize for the best translation in the Macedonian language "Dragi" this year will consist of Jana Mihajlovska PhD (librarian and president of the Library Association of Macedonia; representative of the family of Dragi Mihajlovski), Anastasija Gjurčinova PhD attending professor at the Department of Italian Language and Literature and translator; representative proposed by the Faculty of Philology "Blaže Koneski") and Ivan Šopov (writer and translator, representative proposed by the publishing house "Antolog").
The award consists of a plaque, Dragi statuette and a monetary award consisting of 40.000 denars.
This year's edition of the "Dragi" award was realized by the publishing house "Antolog" with the support of the Ministry of Culture and in cooperation with the Faculty of Philology "Blaže Koneski" - Skopje
The annual award for best literary translation in Мacedonian - Dragi was announced in 2022 with the first honorary recognition awarded to Dragi Mihajlovski (1951-2022), a Мacedonian writer, translator, essayist and professor. Besides his prose work, Mihajlovski has left a meaningful and eternal footstep in Macedonian culture with the translation of Shakespeare, Milton, Shelley, Blake, Eliot. and others. He has published several studies and essays about the theory of translation and his opinions about literary translation have also inspired students at the Faculty of Philology "Blaže Koneski" in Skopje, where he was a professor.
