Healing the World
Translation: Vladimir Jankovski
"Healing the World" is the story of the life of two people in a time of extremes. Georg and Vera at one point in their lives have extremely contrasting biographies. They meet when it becomes possible, after everything in the world was against their meeting. But then they go their separate ways, although now everything points to them staying together.
An epic story that testifies to the power of ideology capable of dividing almost anything. The novel covers the period from the second half of the 18th century, when a group of German colonists arrived in Slavonia, within the framework of Maria Theresa's reforms, until the breakup of Yugoslavia at the end of the 20th century. This novel knocks on the door of the present. That is, this novel knocks on the door of existentialist fear, uncertainty and general anger.
The most awarded Croatian novel in the last few years. He is the winner of the awards "Mesha Selimović", "Mirko Kovač", "Radomir Konstantinović", "Kocićevo pero" and "roman@tportal.hr - award for the best Croatian novel".
