Sanja Mihajlović-Kostadinovska

Sanja Mihajlović-Kostadinovska (1982), due to a mix of circumstances, works at the Faculty of Philology as a professor of Spanish literature. She has accidentally become the author of the following books: "517", "(Infinite) Models of the Short Story", "In Short Worms", "Sonuwalko" and "Atollo". She is currently not writing anything due to lack of time or inspiration, she does not know exactly, but she always experiences creative writing as opposed to boring academic writing as a liberating act.

“In short”

“Begemot”, Skopje. 2021

"The stories are written in third and more often in first person pov, by a credible narrator, who nevertheless occasionally revels in unreliability, using it to seductively lead the reader through the story. […] Almost all the stories are set in abstract temporal-spatial coordinates, which are nevertheless somewhere in modernity and in urban environments, and this leaves the impression of the stories being autobiographical. However, this approach (the often confessional tone and measured lyricism, which do not even for a moment give off nuances of pathos) can be seen as a small, imperceptible and successfully arranged trap, and that gentle, spontaneous questioning between the possibility of autobiography and the certainty of fiction is just another appealing feature of this collection."
