Bookstar 2016

GIVE ME A STAR!

The European literary festival "Bookstar" was held for the second time, with the ambition to slowly but surely become a tradition. This year the festival brings 4 European authors, the promotion of a sci-fi novel by a young Macedonian author and two anthologies. Famous writers and university professors were promoters of the works.

The BookStar Festival launches a year of women authors ie. female writers. Second - female.

This year's edition was an artistic outburst in its entirety. Concerts and performances by famous bands but also young artists, stage performances, debates, creative children's workshops, actors took place in the program, and of course the focus remained on literature and promotions, which are arranged in several literary gatherings.

During the preparations, the festival was supported by several guerilla actions around the capital, in order to finally return the books to the readers, and thus to bring reading back into vogue.

For the first time, the BookStar prize for the most read book between two editions of the Festival was awarded to the book "Murder at the Bosphorus Hotel" by Esmahan Aykol from Turkey.
