Zoran “Dzoff” Spasov

Zoran "Dzoff" Spasov is a Macedonian author, novelist and playwright, born in Skopje in 1965. His work moves between humour and sorrow, personal and collective memory, history and fiction. He writes in a distinctive and direct voice, often coloured by Skopje slang, aphorism and irony, always seeking to reveal the human being behind great themes and historical figures. He is the author of eight literary works, including Tito, My Penultimate Hero, Toronto Express, Keep Going, Son, I Am Sirma Too and Goce Delchev: Love and Death. Toronto Express was adapted into a monodrama and staged at the Macedonian National Theatre, while Tito, My Penultimate Hero was shortlisted for Novel of the Year Award. For seven consecutive years, Dzoff has been Ars Lamina’s bestselling Macedonian author. He donates the proceeds from his books to humanitarian causes, transforming the written word into tangible good.
