The publishing house Antolog from Skopje announces:
22 WORKS IN THE SECOND ROUND FOR THE "DRAGI" AWARD 2025
The three-member jury committee of the award for the best translation in Macedonian "Dragi", consisting of: Dr. Anastasia Gjurchinova (president), Dr. Jana Mihajlovska and Ivan Šopov at a meeting held on August 20, 2025 (Wednesday) at the premises of the "Antolog" publishing house, decided to enter the first round of works selection with 22 publications from 13 publishing houses, translated by 23 translators and from 13 different languages.
The jury reached its decision after a long and multifaceted debate, with the general impression being that almost all submitted works could easily be found directly in the final stages of selection. The large and equal competition confirmed the outstanding level of the Macedonian translation scene and the eminence of this award. What is noticeable, is the significant contribution of the translators, and with them the other people involved in the process – proofreaders, co-editors, editors and graphic designers, to the creation of quality publications and the promotion of translated literature. The jury considered in detail all aspects of the submitted works: the specificity (weight) of the original language, the skill of the translation tools, the scope or complexity of the works, the richness of the language, the skill of circumventing “translation traps”, the editorial finesse, etc.
