September 21st, 2023, Skopje<\/u> The BookStar Festival announced today that Sophie Hannah<\/strong>the only writer who, for the first time forty years after Agatha Christie's death, was chosen by her heirs and family to write sequel novels with Hercule Poirot. There are many authors in the world who are compared to being like Agata Christie<\/em>but only one is Sophie Hanna, the new Agatha Christie<\/em> and she is coming to the BookStar Festival for an exclusive event with her!<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Sophie Hannah (1971) is a Sunday Times and New York Times bestselling author who has been published in fifty-one languages and her books have sold millions of copies worldwide. It's Tuesday for a new series of Hercule Poirot sequels commissioned by Agatha Christie's family, bringing the total to four so far, with the fifth due out in October 2023. In 2014, with the blessing of Agatha Christie's family and legal heirs, Sophie Hanna announced a new Poirot novel, The Monogram Murders, which was a bestseller in more than fifteen countries. Macedonia will be among the first countries in the world where her latest book, \"The Silent Night of Hercule Poirot\", will be available to readers.<\/p>\n

Hannah has published two collections of short stories and five collections of poetry \u2013 the fifth of which, Pessimism for Beginners, was shortlisted for the TS Eliot Prize. Her poetry is included in academic programs in the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n

Her poetry is studied at GCSE, A Level and degree level across the UK. \nSophie has recently helped to create a Master\u2019s Degree in Crime and Thriller Writing at the University of Cambridge, for which she is the main teacher and Course Director.\nShe is also the founder of the DREAM AUTHOR (www.dreamauthorcoaching.com<\/a>).\n\nShe lives with her husband, children and dog in Cambridge, where she is an Honorary Fellow of Lucy Cavendish College.<\/p>\n

Here's how she explains her diverse interests when it comes to writing: \u201cI think it's funny that I ended up in four genres that some people like to look down on: poetry that needs rhyme, deep thought and still make sense; crime fiction in which puzzles and solutions are the main tool; the novels-sequels; and self-help books! \"I have great love and respect for all these things,\" said Hana.<\/p>\n

So far, the festival has announced several top foreign guests from different European countries, including: Stefan Hertmans <\/strong>(Belgium), Anja Mugerli<\/strong> (Slovenia), Francis Kirps<\/strong> (Luxembourg).<\/p>\n

Stefan Hertmans<\/strong> (1951) is among the brightest Belgian literary stars \u2013 author, poet and essayist from the Flemish speaking area. His biography reads like a novel: from a teacher to a jazz musician, from a university career to a writer, from a Belgian state laureate to a huge international celebrity. In 2016, Hertmans received the prestigious E. di Peron for the historical novel \"Forever Stranger\".<\/p>\n

Anja Mugerli<\/strong> (1984) is a Slovenian author, proofreader and editor. She graduated with a degree in Slovenian language and a master's degree in performance studies and creative writing. In 2021, the collection of short stories \"Bee Family\" is shortlisted for the \"New Place\" award and receives the European Union Prize for Literature. He also writes plays, two of which won prizes at an international competition in Italy. He lives in Nova Gorica, on the border between Slovenia and Italy.<\/p>\n

Francis<\/strong> Kirps<\/strong> (1971) is a Luxembourgish author, satirist and journalist. In the early 2000s, Kypris entered the poetry slam scene. He has participated in over five hundred slam and reading stage performances. Founder and Vice President of the new Luxembourg Writers Association A:LL Schreftsteller*innen. In 2020, he received the Servais Prize and the European Union Prize for Literature for the book \"Mutations\".<\/p>\n

In the period from October 2-4, everyone has the opportunity to meet the authors during BookStar 2023.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The festival is held under the slogan \"Please do disturb\" and is supported by the Ministry of Culture, the literary network Traduki, EU with YOU, the publishing house \"Antolog\", and separate events from the Czech Literary Center, the Center for Flemish Literature, the European Union, the Cultural and Information Center of the Republic of Bulgaria in Skopje and the Embassies of the Czech Republic, Spain and Belgium. The festival program will take place in several locations in Skopje. Media sponsor of the event is the Macedonian Radio Television. The visual identity is the authorship of Vladimir Trajanovski,<\/strong>, \u0422he festival video was created by Radmila Vankoska<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
