{"id":2574,"date":"2024-06-05T09:35:01","date_gmt":"2024-06-05T07:35:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.bookstar.mk\/?p=2574"},"modified":"2025-04-24T20:05:07","modified_gmt":"2025-04-24T18:05:07","slug":"646-2-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bookstar.mk\/en\/646-2-2\/","title":{"rendered":"THE COMPETITION FOR THE BEST TRANSLATION AWARD \"DRAGI\" 2024 IS OPEN NOW"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>THE CONTEST FOR THE BEST LITERARY TRANSLATION AWARD \"DRAGI\" 2025 IS NOW OPEN <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>AWARD \"DRAGI\" 2024 IS OPEN NOW<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2576 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/bookstar.mk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Fotka-Dragi-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bookstar.mk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Fotka-Dragi-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/bookstar.mk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Fotka-Dragi-683x1024.jpg 683w, https:\/\/bookstar.mk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Fotka-Dragi-768x1152.jpg 768w, https:\/\/bookstar.mk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Fotka-Dragi-8x12.jpg 8w, https:\/\/bookstar.mk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Fotka-Dragi.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The award for the best translation to the Macedonian language \"Dragi\" was established to evaluate translation production in Macedonia, as well as to highlight the value and importance of translation for our cultural context.<\/p>\n<p>Books published between July 1, 2023 and June 30, 2024 can participate.<\/p>\n<p>The published translated works must be translated from an original language and applicants may apply with books translated from modern languages and classic languages (Arabic, Ancient Greek, Sanskrit and Latin).<\/p>\n<p>The award is given for the translation of works of all literary and artistic types: prose, poetry and drama.<\/p>\n<p>Publishing houses, a non-governmental organizations and translators have the right to nominate books for the award.<\/p>\n<p>Each publishing house or non-governmental organization has the right to nominate a maximum of five books, and each translator has the right to nominate a maximum of two books.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The competition is open until July 1, 2024.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The nominated books can be published in physical form or digital editions and must have a CIP record from the National and University Library \"St. Kliment Ohridski\" - Skopje.<\/p>\n<p>The books published in paper form should be submitted in four copies to the address of the publishing house \"Antolog\" (\"Gjorgji Pulevski\" 29, lok. 1), and the electronic editions in electronic form to the email redakcija@antolog.mk. <a href=\"mailto:redakcija@antolog.mk\">redakcija@antolog.mk<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>All submitted translations will be evaluated by a three-member jury committee composed of translators, writers or literary critics.<\/p>\n<p>The award consists of a diploma and a \"Dragi\" statuette.<\/p>\n<p><em>This year's novelty is that for the first time the prize will also include a monetary part, which will amount to a gross amount of 30,000 denars.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This year's edition of the \"Dragi\" award was realized by the publishing house \"Antolog\" with the support of the Ministry of Culture and in cooperation with the Faculty of Philology \"Bla\u017ee Koneski\" - Skopje.<\/p>\n<p>The \"Dragi\" award for the best literary translation into the Macedonian language in 2023 was won by Zlatko Panzov for the translation from Hungarian of the novel \"Captivity\" by Gy\u00f6rgy Spir\u00f3, published by the publishing house Artkonekt. The commission for awarding the award, consisting of: Jana Mihajlovska, Lidija Kapu\u0161evska-Drakulevska and Milan Damjanovski, decided to award a special recognition-diploma for continuing the translation tradition and creative spirit of Dragi Mihajlovski to Nikola Gjelin\u010deski for his translation from Spanish to \"Presongs in Post-Hispanic and Other Poems\" by Jorge Enrique Adoum, published by Aleph Publications.
