Slobodan \u0160najder (1948) is a Croatian writer and playwright. He graduated in philosophy and English at the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb. Founder and long-time editor of the theater magazine \"Prolog\". He has been publishing novels, essays, columns and plays since 1966. His plays have been performed in several European cities, although some of them have been avoided in Croatia. Two of his plays were staged in the Bitola Theater: \"Silence of the Nuns\" (1987) directed by Vladimir Milchin and \"Bones in Stone - Tito\" (2007) directed by Branko Brezovac. He is the author of three novels.<\/p>\n

\"Healing the World\" is the story of the life of two people in a time of extremes. Georg and Vera at one point in their lives have extremely contrasting biographies. An epic story that testifies to the power of ideology capable of dividing almost anything. The novel covers the period from the second half of the 18th century, when a group of German colonists arrived in Slavonia, within the framework of Maria Theresa's reforms, until the breakup of Yugoslavia at the end of the 20th century. This novel knocks on the door of the present. That is, this novel knocks on the door of existentialist fear, uncertainty and general anger.<\/p>\n
